Shamik completed his Masters in Urban Design (M.Arch) from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur.
Following his post-graduation, he has worked at Studio Lotus, an architectural design practice in New Delhi, with Michel Remon Associes in Paris, France, and more recently, as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Urban Design, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
Shamik believes in practice being informed by research and actively explores the role of applied research in contemporary architectural and urbanism practices. His fields of interests include cultural behaviours; everyday urbanism; spatial interactions and the intersection of technology, urbanism and informality.
Shamik joined 'Open to Sky' as an ASSOCIATE on 1st July 2025.
